Integrated Environmental Management and Planning based on Soil Erosion Susceptibility Scenarios

چکیده
Abstract This article presents the identification of soil use potential for different agropastoral and forest scenarios, using an indicator erosion susceptibility from spatialized Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). All USLE factors were ArcGis 10.5 software, case study Cachoeira Cinco Veados Watershed-RS. To determine R factor, we used Cassol et al. 2007 equation a 33-year series rain data six climatic stations. For K published values classes: Entisol, Ultisol, Oxisol, Molisols used. From DEM, LS factor was obtained, considering slope classes (0-3, 3-8, 8-20, 20-45, 45-75, >75%). In addition to actual land situation in watershed, nine scenarios proposed C factor. The value 0.5 evaluation conservation practices (P factor). Considering current along with other results showed that, by identifying most susceptible areas each scenario, it is possible construct map compatibilities use, sustainable limits losses. Therefore, this resulting has as instrument planning zoning studies.

Soil Erosion: a Food and Environmental Threat
Soil erosion is one of the most serious environmental and public health problems facing human society. Humans obtain more than 99.7% of their food (calories) from the land and less than 0.3% from the oceans and other aquatic ecosystems. Each year about 10 million ha of cropland are lost due to soil erosion, thus reducing the cropland available for food production. The loss of cropland is a seri...

Oftentimes, the need to build multidiscipline knowledge bases, oriented to policy scenarios, entails the involvement of stakeholders in manifold domains, with a juxtaposition of different languages whose semantics can hardly allow inter-domain transfers. A useful support for planning is the building up of durable IT-based interactive platforms, where it is possible to modify initial positions t...
متن کاملEnvironmental stochasticity controls soil erosion variability.
Understanding soil erosion by water is essential for a range of research areas but the predictive skill of prognostic models has been repeatedly questioned because of scale limitations of empirical data and the high variability of soil loss across space and time scales. Improved understanding of the underlying processes and their interactions are needed to infer scaling properties of soil loss ...
